6.4 Cooperation with other international organisations

6.4.1 Extent to which CCAMLR cooperates with other international organisations

6.4.1.1 In relation to Observers, CCAMLR should now critically re-examine its relationship with a range of organisations providing Observers to ensure that of the exchange of information is maximised and the working relationship with the bodies they represent is transparent, effective and dynamic. 6.4.1.2 CCAMLR should heighten the priority of examining the need for, and concluding agreements with, other organisations to enhance its own effectiveness and pursue its objectives. Possible candidates could include SEAFO, SWIOFC, tuna RFMOs (in particular CCSBT) and environmental organisations such as ACAP and CITES. Commission   Commission – In progress –advanced steps
6.4.1.3 At routine intervals, CCAMLR should examine its own regulatory provisions against contemporary developments either in RFMOs or in wider instruments applicable to fisheries, environment and broader governance to ensure to the extent possible best practice continues to be adopted and achieved by CCAMLR.
